The refined Dugdale-type plastic zones ahead of an external circular crack, subjected to a uniform displacement at infinity, are evaluated both analytically and numerically. The analytical method utilizes potential theory in classical linear elasticity with emphasis on the contrast from the internal crack problem. A closed-form solution to the mixed boundary problem is obtained to predict the length of the plastic zone for a Tresca yield condition. The analytical solution is also used to benchmark the results obtained from the numerical method, which show good agreement. Through an iterative scheme, the numerical technique is able to estimate the size of crack tip plasticity zone, which is governed by the non-linear von Mises criterion. The relationships between the applied displacement and the length of the plastic zone are compared for the different yielding conditions. Computational modeling has demonstrated that the plastic constraint effect based on the true yield condition can significantly influence the load-bearing capacity. It is also discovered from the comparative study that the stress components predicted by the three different yield conditions may differ notably; however, the stress triaxiality in the ligament region has only small deviations. The proposed study may find applications in predicting the plastic flow in a circumferentially notched round bars under tension. 相似文献

In this work, we describe methods for the preparation of suspensions of micron-sized iron particles grafted with different
surfactants. The aim is to obtain well-dispersed magnetorheological (MR) fluids. The effectiveness of the surfactants as dispersants
was analyzed quantitatively by means of rheological measurements. With this objective, the viscosity of the suspensions was
measured, and the results were compared with the prediction of the Batchelor’s formula (Batchelor, J Fluid Mech 83:97–117, 1977). The effect of dispersion on the MR properties of the suspensions was also studied. It was found that the
quality of the dispersion of a suspension does not have an important effect on the magnitude of the field-induced yield stress
but does on the change of viscosity induced by the field. It was also found that the transition from the solid-like state
to the liquid-like one happens very smoothly for well-dispersed suspensions, contrarily to the abrupt transition for poorly

The paper discusses the derivation and the numerical implementation of a finite strain material model for plastic anisotropy and nonlinear kinematic and isotropic hardening. The model is derived from a thermodynamic framework and is based on the multiplicative split of the deformation gradient in the context of hyperelasticity. The kinematic hardening component represents a continuum extension of the classical rheological model of Armstrong–Frederick kinematic hardening. Introducing the so-called structure tensors as additional tensor-valued arguments, plastic anisotropy can be modelled by representing the yield surface and the plastic flow rule as functions of the structure tensors. The evolution equations are integrated by a new form of the exponential map that preserves plastic incompressibility and uses the spectral decomposition to evaluate the exponential tensor functions in closed form. 近红外光谱技术作为一种无创组织氧监测手段,近年来在整形外科手术术后监测方面得到了越来越多的重视。文章利用一套近红外无损组织氧检测系统对6例手术成功病例的移植皮瓣侧和对照侧正常组织内的氧饱和度进行了长时间对比监测,发现两侧的组织氧饱和度之间存在显著性差异。还对一例血管吻合失败的病例下颌部的多个位置进行了检测,发现坏死部位的氧饱和度和正常组织相比处于很低的水平。实验结果表明,近红外光谱检测技术对于皮瓣内的血氧浓度动态变化具有很好的灵敏度,在移植皮瓣的术后监测方面具有良好的应用前景。 相似文献

采用基于Compass力场的分子动力学(MD)方法,研究了惰性气体氙(Xe)和氪(Kr)在塑料闪烁体(聚乙烯基对甲苯)的平整和粗糙表面的吸附和扩散行为.由惰性气体吸附曲线的均方根位移(MSD),得到了Xe/Kr气体在聚乙烯基对甲苯表面的扩散系数.研究结果表明,Kr/Xe气体均被稳定地吸附在塑料闪烁体表面,其稳定性随着温度的升高而增加,Xe分子的吸附性强于Kr分子. Kr/Xe气体在聚乙烯基对甲苯表面具有较强的扩散性能,扩散深度随着温度与厚度的增加而增加,最大为22.865?,Kr分子扩散能力强于Xe分子.基底粗糙表面增加了两种惰性气体分子的吸附和扩散. 相似文献

Sterilization by irradiation techniques is considered to be an improved method to treat polluted products of human consumption. Secondary effects, that may be generated in the components of packaging materials, could induce organoleptic damage and some physico-chemical modifications, observed especially in plastic materials. In order to demonstrate any such secondary changes, we have investigated the effects of beta-irradiation (a treatment which could induce either a reticulation or a cleavage in a polymeric sequence) on three polymers; namely, low density polyethylene, polystyrene and polyvinyl chloride. The techniques used to identify irradiation-induced modifications of these polymers were size exclusion chromatography and thermal analysis. Thermal analysis showed a decrease in the percentage of crystallinity of polyethylene after its radiosterilization. Exclusion chromatography highlighted a reticulation for irradiated polyvinyl chloride and polystyrene. 相似文献
